Hotel California is one of the first rock songs I fell for. My father used to drop me off at school every morning on his way to work and we always listened to Imus in the the Morning. Imus was playing it one day and my dad noticed me bopping to it as I was reading my book. He was always asking me to get my head out of the book when I was with him. As he turned it up, I put the book down, and we kept bopping together. I’ve loved it ever since and, when I heard Kaveh Rastegar’s arrangement, I just had to record a version in homage to the memory.

The song is timeless and with Michael Valerio’s cinematic strings I think we manage to capture its mystique and grandeur.
